Restoring an ancinent piece of history
dholkal ganesh is set on top of the faraspal

capital raipur .
it is believed that the ganesh statue which stands
at a height of 3000 feet was build in the 9th century
built out of granite stone , this statue is 3 feet
in height and 3.5feet in widht .
It is believed that the greate battle between
ganeshji and parshuramji had happened here
parshuram was the avatar of vishnu and with
the blessings of Shiviji, he had won a huge battle
that was the reason why he had gone to thank
shivji, but ganeshji stopped him form going
inside and due to this , they fought a greate battle
during the battle parshuramji cut ganeshji's
tooth with his iron weapon that is why if you have noticed
, whenever you see a ganeshji's statue, his one tooth is cut in half and it is said that this iron weapon had fallen down the mountains and since then it is said that these mountains are made out of iron.
to reach the peak of dholkal, one has to do a 5km trek
during this trek, you get to see a dense jungle , waterfalls
long proproots of ancient trees and human
sized ant hills this trek is very popular among tourists
and locals.
In 2012 , pieces of the statue were found
littered around the base of the hill
Rising up to the need of the hour , local
government authorities left no stone unturned to find the
missing piece and restored the statue in just a week .
